Account Safety
How Account Linking Works
Unified Gamer Profile never asks for your Steam, Xbox, RetroAchievements, Blizzard, PlayStation, Discord, or Twitch passwords. When a platform requires authorization, you sign in on the official provider page and return to UGP after approving access.
What Connected Data Is Used For
- Build your public gamer profile and platform badges.
- Sync games, achievements, trophies, WoW characters, profile images, and social links.
- Power friends activity, comparisons, leaderboards, and completion stats.
What UGP Does Not Access
- Platform passwords
- Personal RetroAchievements API keys
- Payment details, wallet balances, billing information, or purchase methods
- Private messages or unrelated account data
Platform Notes
Steam
Steam linking uses a SteamID64 and available Steam profile, library, and achievement data. Steam privacy settings can limit what the app can sync.
Xbox
Xbox linking redirects through Microsoft authorization. UGP syncs Xbox identity, games, achievement progress, and Gamerscore when Xbox services make that data available.
World of Warcraft
WoW linking uses Blizzard/Battle.net authorization for identity, character discovery, profile data, and achievements where available.
PlayStation
PlayStation trophy sync uses available PSN profile and trophy data for trophy titles, counts, earned trophies, and progress.
RetroAchievements
RetroAchievements linking uses a temporary profile-motto verification code and UGP's server-side Web API key. UGP syncs public profile identity, games, unlocks, points, and awards without asking for your password or personal API key.
Discord and Twitch
Discord and Twitch are lightweight social profile badges in this beta. They do not sync achievements or games.
Your Controls
You can disconnect platforms, remove profile images or social links, hide games from your public profile, and request account removal. Some platform data is limited by provider APIs, and UGP is currently in beta, so sync behavior can vary by platform and privacy setting.
